The Youth Group at Holy Faith includes all young people in Grades 7 – 12.

The governing body of this group is the Youth Council comprised of the Youth Group Officers, Pastor, Council Representative and adult leader and meets once a month to plan and discuss upcoming activities.

Some of the activities include Lock-Ins several times a year, service projects, youth gatherings, etc. Each year a large contingent of youth attend the Winter District Youth Gathering where they enjoy a weekend of fellowship, Bible Studies, music and friends.

Service Projects usually include one or more of the following: Visiting Nursing Home for Bingo, Scavenger Hunt for the Hungry, the Crop Walk, and participating with other outreach programs in the congregation.

Every 3 years the youth attend the International Gathering held in various cities. Prior to this they sponsor numerous fund-raising projects which provide enough funds to allow many youth to attend almost cost-free. There are usually between 15-20 who attend and it’s a fantastic experience for them.

yg_logo_horizontal_2line_standHeld every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’€™s people to learn more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. The next Gathering will be held on July 11-15, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN.

During the five days of the Gathering, youth spend time together in God’s word, worship, service, and fellowship with others from across the synod. This event is organized by LCMS Youth Ministry in Saint Louis, MO.

Kids against Hunger Servant Project

By Donna Gedra

Holy Faith had a fantastic turnout of old and young alike with 60 people showing up to help! Thrivent Financial funded our project and our youth and adults put 6,000 meals together with love!. The Assembly line went something like this: vitamins, vegetables, soy and rice!  All carefully scooped and measured then sent down the line to be vacuum packed and boxed for hungry children everywhere. In the end, we had 1,000 packages which contained 6 meals per bag, and the satisfaction of a job well done!
